Cyrus Sutherland
Career Highlights

Mrs. Sutherland gave birth to dear Cyrus in 1973… and their lives were different for the duration to this current day. Young Cyrus, always the aggressive and competitive boy, led a childhood much like any male at this critical and transforming period in history. Nevertheless, while Sutherland was an intelligent and gifted student in school, he frequently lacked the focus required to see various goals to their completion. Though never diagnosed, it can be suggested that Cyrus Sutherland suffered from some form of Attention Deficit Disorder.

After some consideration, Sutherland and his parents decided that it was best if he focus more on the gifts he had always been given: a hunger for competition and a want to do what is right. Therefore, they placed him in a situation where he can be watched and directed. The short tour of duty Sutherland held within the United States Army helped to feed this need as well as have far reaching consequences.

Sutherland’s brief tenure in the military brought him across the world to the Persian Gulf, where he briefly saw action. Though the conflict came to a swift close by the time Sutherland was deployed, the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder had already taken root in his mind. Following a classified incident, Sutherland was dishonorably discharged from the US Army, once more a failure. Returning home, Cyrus was a ball of agitated aggression and fractured faculties. Sutherland never took on the mantle of being a ‘veteran’ and, ambitious as ever, tried to find work in the civilian sector. Nonetheless, the damage done always seemed to manifest itself in sudden violent outbursts, failure to focus, and other dangerous manifestations.

Sutherland tried many different avenues to quench his hunger and somehow find a place that would tolerate his outbursts. He had been a failed soldier and was unable to become a police officer. Returning to some form of school was too steady for his unsteady mind. He was too volatile to work in the public eye… until he decided to learn how to wrestle.

Though Sutherland had a knack for the technical aspects of the sport, frequently when things became heated these technical tools became lost to brawling blows. Being incredibly aggressive, tenacious, fit, and resilient did help mold Sutherland into a difficult and unorthodox opponent, and though the keys to becoming a truly skilled technician never fell into his hand, he was able to be inadvertently captivating, if not enthralling, to watch in the ring.

Now, Cyrus Sutherland has found a vocation where he can not only make money, but also vent his frustration, unrest his aggression, and find a fight he not only can win, but have to fight over and over again, week in and week out. This is why Cyrus Sutherland has come to PRIME.

This is why PRIME should take note.
