Duke Williams
Career Highlights

Duke Williams was born August 12, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. The witty Malice host is the middle child of three; he has an older sister, Janice and a younger brother, Shelton. He is also the 'earth' father of PRIME hall of fame member Hoyt Williams.

Williams’s father, Randle Hank Williams was a musician, and unfortunately never got to see much of his son growing up being on the road, but his mother Julie, a Church secretary, was there for him till her death in 1996.

A 1984 radio and television graduate of Penn State University, Williams went on to work as a radio talk show host in Chicago after a short stint in the NFL with the Patriots. Williams even worked as a children's program host and a television weatherman, where his antics cost him his job after congratulating a tropical storm for being upgraded to hurricane status.

His boss wasn't blown away (to say the least) and sent Williams packing. The media student headed to Austin, Texas in 1987, to put his wise-ass humor and physical strength to good use as a body guard for The Highwaymen.

Duke gained some creditability after killing a man with his bare hands, who was trying to stab Kris Kristofferson. That is when Kristofferson coined the nickname "Malice Man" for the young Williams. Duke soon joined the bar circuits as a bare-knuckle fighter. Williams became a well know fighter and champion through out the US and Japan.

The fighting did not last long, but it garnered the fighter 2 titles, one in Japan, and the other in the US. Thanks to the critical success for the fighter and his media suave persona, Jax and the ICWA wanted to try Williams out as a pro-wrestler, where a different audience would probably appreciate his humor more.

Elwood D. Blues(stage name) debuted on February 1, 1996, following some training. Thanks to the winning combination of skill and Williams's witty, sarcastic banter, Duke had achieved a veritable cult following, not to mention high critical praise.

Time magazine crowned Williams the heir to Hulk Hogans king of wrestling crown, and the wrestler went on the win consecutive titles, from 1996 to 2001. When word of Duke’s alcohol and drug problem got out, ICWA handed the World title belt arch rival, Tony Rolo, despite Williams's public desire for the coveted title.

Williams packed up and headed to the 'PCW', which had offered the betrayed wrestler a lucrative 8-million dollar contract. Duke soon won a Continental title, the presidency, an announcer position, and host of the number one radio show in wrestling PCW Malice.

The rowdy Wrestler host continues to keep audiences and opponents in stitches, with wacky stints and hard liquor and a streak of Malice. Duke Williams went on to become a member of the PCW's illustrious hall of fame as a former Universal and Continental champion and the President of e-wrestling after defeating then President Tyler Nelson.

The founder of The Malice Crew tries to remain very private about his life, but what is known about his personal life is his marriage to Jessi Townson is his sixth and ended a few years ago, and former well publicized relationships Julia Roberts and country singer Allison Kraus.

Given that movies is not his forte (with an uncredited cameo appearance in Men In Black with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith), Williams is still one of PWI’S '50 Greatest Wrestling Stars of All Time,' and has made his mark on wrestling as a whole, proving to be the true media monarch.

Now in the federation his son made famous the Malice Man tries his hand at tag action as a member of Delta Upsilon Iota. At 49 years of age and a spotty work record over the last few year many wonder what the Malice Man has left. Only time will tell...
