Wrestling Style: | Hybrid of brawling/street fighting with shades of technical knowledge. As to exactly where he trained is obscure but most of his uncouth, brawling technique is primarily self-taught. The rudimentary technical wrestling knowledge he possesses has been learned over many years by a handful of mentors (none lasting long). In a nutshell....VJ doesn't have the sort of insane depth to his in-ring approach as the industry's top technical masters, but he's seen it all and done it all. The heart and soul of Violence Jack is that's a fairly outright brawler, spending a great deal of the time just trading fisticuffs and landing brutal yet simple strikes. He has his share of technical knowledge but he's no Bret Hart or Dean Malenko. He beats his opponents into a pulp and mixes up his brawling methods with an array of devastating slams. His favorite target is the neck, setting up for his pulverizing R'lyeh Anthem head-drop (known to many as the Judgment Slam, Sugiura Olympic Slam or Painthriller among other names).
The greatest strength of Violence Jack? Stamina. Not stamina as in he can go often for 80+ minutes, but he can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. He's become renowned for what is deemed a borderline superhuman threshold of pain and ability to withstand unheard of damage and stay as tenacious as ever. He's been known to occasionally no-sell some of the more substantial head-drops in the wrestling business before coming right back with his own high-impact attack (highspot in his more epic matches usually), not unlike the top Japanese stars do at times.
His approach is slow- to mid-paced and methodical. Standard heel tactics aplenty and, being a veteran who knows in-ring psychology like the back of his hand, he loves mind games. Jack will never be seen flying around the ring or taking insane risks that reap limited rewards, not at this stage of his career; he won't be tumbling off cages into stacked tables or experimenting with aerial techniques. He stalks his opponents, takes his shots to stay close, and relentlessly beats them into oblivion. |
Finisher: | R'lyeh Anthem |
Finisher Description: | Jack ducks behind his opponent, hoists them into what can be described as a crude Angle Slam set-up, and abruptly falls over and deposits the victim on their head/neck. This is his primary finisher and with one like this.....well, he doesn't really need any super finishers.
