Last year it was Ferguson/Lamen, Wolfenden/Lisieux, and finally Tchu/Sirrajin for the Universal Championship.
“And this year, things were once again just too big for one main event.”
Blaine Blair sported quite the grin Tuesday evening as he officially declared a triple main event for Colossus IV, on August 5th, live from sold-out Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington.
“This year, our lineup is every bit as amazing as last year and then some. And so, much in the spirit of CIII, CIV will be billed as a triple main event.” Those three matches? “Dusk Vs Winters Vs Shakur Vs Lavelle for the Intense Championship, Ferguson Vs Nova, and of course… the main event of main events… Troy Vs Silver for the most prestigious prize in this business.”
It was just last August that PRIME set numerous records with CIII… a card that featured three feuds that were months, even years, in the making. In two weeks time, a very similar scenario will play out in Seattle.
“It was impossible not to go this route.” Blair added. “The four athletes involved in the Intense title match have been at each other’s throats since we said goodbye to 2006 and welcomed in 2007. Nova and Ferguson have a very complex and bitter rivalry going on that dates back to the height of the FU/Team PRIME battles, and obviously, Troy and Silver have years of history behind them, and fans have been craving the opportunity to see them collide ever since Sonny knifed Lindsay in the back three months ago.”
Indeed, it is easy to see how Blair can sell PRIME’s upcoming supershow as a triple main event. All three matches could be the worthy main event of any show, ReVolution or otherwise, of the calendar year. Only Colossus, however, is big enough to house them all.
“And that’s not even mentioning the undercard.”
An undercard that some are calling one of the most stacked line-ups of all time.
“In addition to the Universal and Intense title matches, we’ll see the prestigious 5 Star championship defended as Easton Hall clashes with Jason Snow in a battle between future Universal Champs. The Tag titles will also be on the line as Olsig and Romani look to end the dominant run of The Blue Rogues. The seven foot, four hundred pound Titan St. James will step into the ring with the reigning PTC Infinite Gauntlet and former two-time PRIME Universal Champion, Tchu, this week on ReV 135 for a contract signing to make their match at CIV official.”
Blair could hardly contain his enthusiasm.
“And that’s not to mention, the Unfuckables in action along with Jack Murphy, Sound and the Fury, newcomers Donnelly and Elliott locking up… there’ll be the 5 Star Challenge featuring the likes of Rayne, Walczak, Gamble, and Monsoon. And…” Blair paused, before giving the last bit of information. “…and rumor has it, that PRIME fans could also be in for a very big surprise.”
That surprise?
“If I told you, it would kinda defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it?”
