Coming off the biggest show of the year, CIV, much of the talk has centered around the shift in the roster, and the march towards an all new PPV event: Dice, Dollars, & Tragedy. But before The Roulette match makes its debut, there’s plenty to talk about as PRIME starts the 5th year of its existence.
- The early estimated buyrate for CIV is somewhere around the 3.0 mark. This number would be right around the total for CIII, but with the slight increase in price ($44.99 to $49.99), CIV will set all time records for PRIME’s pocket books.
- If the 3.0 number is accurate, PRIME would pull in around $60 million
- CIV did approximately $4 million live-gate, and pulled in another $3.7 million in merchandise.
- Due to the huge financial successes PRIME is experiencing, the pay-outs for CIV are rumored to be massive. Word floating around is that top-tier talent such as current Universal Champion, Lindsay Troy, former champs and recent HoF inductees, Nova and Tchu, Ferguson and one or two others pulled in a solid $ 1 million bonus.
- The payouts were based upon position on the card, current status with the company, past accomplishments etc. All the members of the Intense title main event match supposedly received bonuses in the $750,000 range.
- Every superstar (almost every, I should say) received at least a quarter-million dollar bonus for their participation, and even then… PRIME is expected to pocket millions after all payments and expenses have been covered.
- Two superstars who did not pocket a cool few hundred thousand? Sonny Silver and Nitz Donnelly. Silver actually received a near million dollar bonus, but it was collected and donated to charity as part of his fine for his actions on ReV 135. Donnelly, after receiving the biggest signing bonus in PRIME history, received just his weekly check. His contract is almost entirely incentive based (a PRIME first). A win would have netted him nearly a half million.
- All the participants in the Intense title match were battered and bruised following their match at Colossus, but none are expected to miss any significant time.
- Expect Tony Gamble to reclaim his spot as a top PRIME player. Some issues that arose following UltraViolence derailed ‘The Grin’s career temporarily, but he’s expected to get back on track. Fast.
- PRIME officials were extremely impressed with the efforts of Lindsay Troy and Sonny Silver. Silver, is said (despite his actions at 135) to have earned himself a comfortable spot atop the PRIME ladder. Troy continues to impress in the face of doubters. Her victory at CIV made her the first Global/Universal Champion to successfully retain at the big show.
- Big Bear shocked the world with his huge win in the 5 Star Challenge. Word is that he’ll get his shot at PRIME gold at DDT, meaning Jason Snow’s reward for his impressive championship victory… double duty on September 16th.
- Wade Elliott was the near unanimous choice for number one contender to the Intense title. Despite his short time with the company, The Blue Collar Brawler has already made his mark, and a huge win at CIV made him the go-to choice.
- Officials are becoming uneasy with the employment of Chainz. Some are pushing to have his contract terminated. While the monster has drawn fans to seats, some feel his violent actions and out of control nature are starting to outweigh the draw. While PRIME considers the issue, he has been suspended.
- Titan St. James was said to have caught the attention of many backstage. Titan became just the third man in PRIME history to cleanly pin The Inhuman Being. The win has put him in position for a solid push by PRIME management and was the main reason he was included in The Roulette match.
- Some PRIME officials are said to be worried about the depth at the top of the roster. With the retirements of Nova and Tchu at CIV, coupled with the recent departures of Killean Sirrajin and Karina Wolfenden, some feel that the main event is wearing a little thin.
- Blair is said not to be concerned with any such notion. He was quick to point out the superstar presence of Troy and Ferguson, and noted that the likes of Silver and Snow were about to carve themselves well-deserved spots atop the card. Also, Blair boasted the signing of former PRIME superstar, and HoF member, Hoyt Williams. “Hoyt’s return is great for us, and is a large step in filling some of the holes left by recent retirements.”
- Last but not least, the four Intense title participants were all heavily praised for their work over the last six months. Many feel that any combination of the four could likely main event next years Colossus for the Universal Title.
That’s it for now! Until next time…
